Synopsis
The only way to escape is to 'clear' the game. Death in game means actual 'death' ----

The ten thousand who have logged onto the as of yet mysterious game 'Sword Art Online' using their Nerve Gear have been forced into this perilous death game and are trapped inside.

Protagonist Kirito, one of the many gamers, has greeted this 'truth'.
He plays as a solo player in the giant castle that is the stage for this game ---- 'Aincrad'.

To meet the conditions of clearing the game and leaving this twisted virtual world, he must get through all 100 floors. Will Kirito have what it takes to clear the game, or will he die trying?


I currently reading the novel and it is interesting to watch a bit similar to accel world however, this one involve the real life of the player.

Yes, that's why he the MAIN ANTAGONIST of the series. he is perfect for the role with his twisted mind and ideal.

lol.. are we allowed to discuss novel here? i mean is it okay? im just asking.

also Kayaba is not the only antagonist here and he's not that evil except for putting 10K people on the death game SAO(lol that would make him evil enough) there's the laughing coffin nasty bunch of guys...

ahaha i see.. i thought the novel and manga are together because of their form and both literary... and anime (series, oav, movie) is on the other section. but since there is no description about that lol.. i guess we can discuss novels here or compare it to the anime...


@novel of SAO.. i haven't started reading it... but i will when i have more time in hand. i will try to read the manga too.


extra note:...hmmm i am thinking of creating a manga thread for SAO there might be a difference in the manga and anime.

the novel and the manga is greatly different to each other but i think the story line is there so it will not drift to much on the original...

but i think the anime will be the same as the novel cause ep.1 has exactly the same scene as the novel...

Discuss anime, light novel, ova, anything will be accepted except for the manga.

The story of the manga was clearly adapted on the SAO novel but kinda different from the original. Chapter 6 of the manga clearly referred from Chapter 13 of the novel.

Volume 10 is already out however its not translated yet. I already finished reading Aria in the Starless Night last night. Right now I will continue to read Chapter 12 in SAO Volume 1.

@episodes
Probably, the anime episode of the series will follow according the Chronologically of the novel. Episode 1 is equals to Chapter 1 to 4 for the novel, while episode 2 will cover Chapter 1 to 10 of the Aria in the Starless Night Arc and episode 3 will cover Chapter 11 to 20 of the current Arc.

i've checked the wikipedia about SAO. the studio behind this anime is A-1 Pictures.

is there any chance that the anime would deviate from the manga or the novel?

@Master_chief: lol..of course they will make it from start floor 1 to floor 75 it will confuse the watcher's if they will follow the novel Chronology....

though i hate to talk about the what come's next...

I just started to read the novel this month so for now my fave character is Kirito, I dunno why but I feel I have a similar qualities at him.

well mostly, people will like him for his strength and attitude...

well if we are talking about favorite anime characters... i would say ASUNA YUUKI!.... the flash..lol ehehe..

certainly Asuna has a good proportion has a kind attitude and a kick-ass character

I like her speed and her technique in fighting monsters. Sometime she may act childish but that too cute for her.

Nice episode so far, But I'm kinda disappointed why they fit all the whole Aria arc in one single episode. As they introduce Asuna and teamed up with Kirito in fighting Kobold made plus the powerful soundtrack me jaw drop and edge of my seat while watching it. I feel pity for Diabel as he died from the game, he take the chance in taking the LA (Last Attack) to the boss. Kirito while on the other hand did a great job for defending the beta tester and revealed that he is a Beater (beta tester and a cheater). Looking forward at episode 3

Why they did not include how Kirito meet Asuna in the dugeon, Argo the the Rat, and the bath sence? They rush all the things up and put Aria in just one single episode!

Probably, if they will squish all Aincrad Arc in 12 episode series.

im done watching episode 2. to the eyes of someone who haven't read the novel. i would say it is still EPIC. why? it's because it is a fast pace anime... and it is interesting...


i just saw ASUNA... one epic GIRL... i can't wait to see more of her.


and for the ending song ...it fits the anime.. just my opinion..lol eheeh
