Did anime changed your taste in music ?
Tue Mar 25, 2014 12:46 pm
First topic message reminder :
It did for me. I listen to a tons of anime songs nowadays.
because of Nodame Cantabile, i listen to a lot of classical songs.
Sakamichi no Apollon , made me loved jazz
How bout you ? Did anime in general changed your taste in music ? Or any anime in specific ?

Yes it did...before i listen more to Western Music but ever since i watched anime i switch in listening to anime songs, jrock, visual kei & jpop, there is something in japanese music that makes me think i'm in a whole different world like fantasy or something like that whenever i listen to it....
And in my opinion, japanese music and their lyrics are powerful and meaningful even though i don't really understand much the lyrics...it really rocked my world ...\m/ \m/ \m/

Hmm.. I guess so..?
I mean, I loved Anime more when they're OP, ED and insert songs compliment on the nature of the anime, it's characters and more.

Hahahahaha. Truth to be told.
Kahit anong music pinakikingan ko, depende sa mood.
Parang wala akong certain genre.
Ay, ewan, back to the topic, NO, may mga anime song ako na di ko gusto, meron naman na sobrang gustong gusto.

Yeah. Me too. Probably ung "Anime" genre is common na, ung ibang songs na nasa anime can be classified into other genres. For example, Brynhildr in the Darkness's 2nd OP, Virtue and Vice by Fear and Loathing in Vegas, is a screamo. Srsly, it is. But then again, I liked it very well.

Of course it did. Because most of Japanese songs I listen are upbeat, I started to like other Western upbeat songs. Whenever I feel stressed or down, I'm turning to my J-Pop/J-Rock playlist and starting to get hyped again. It's like, it recharges me, bringing back to the track again. :)

It did. I don't know why, but i think there's a soothing melody in every song i hear that comes from an anime. And the meaning it holds is extraordinary, which made me fall in love with it more.

I'd say that my playlist now is 100% J-pop.

Yes. Somehow, the rythm and tempo are perfect enough. Suits to my ears though.

it was influential in a way that it did take me to like/enjoy certain op/ed songs, appreciated classical from la corda/nodame and jazz from sakamichi, like you OP experienced. but that was i was still new to the obsession.
before i got into anime/manga into a certain extent, i came from hiphop/rap (elem days), random genre (in my 6th grade), punk/rock/nu metal(hs days). i entered anime/j-pop songs at the same time i'm going to college. since i've got a lot a free time like who knew, i got my hands to anime to waste them and gradually got fond to it more than i imagined, same with the taste changing/switching to it.
well as of recent, since that was 5 years ago, i've been only listening to j-songs, only listening to international songs only to those i've listened to back in the day for nostalgia. i'm not that updated anymore to the latest international, let alone OPM. (i'm not into it since elem days)
particularly, i listen to metal genre of j-music. either it's vocametal, utaites who can cover metal songs, metal bands; as long as it's j-metal.
