Warning Level :
Tokyo ESP 『 R E V I E W 』
Thu Aug 21, 2014 6:13 pm
These past few days, I have devoted myself in reading Tokyo Ghoul but it seems the "Hel Scans"(the scanlation group that releases scanlated chapters for Tokyo Ghoul) might have been too lazy or lacking of lending hands.
Everyday I had to check "Manga Meow" app for newest releases until I bumped into
this. (Blame the keywords)
It's always first on the list. I kept ignoring it 'till I gave it a try.
And my synopsis starts here.
Rinka Urushiba did not grew up entirely in poverty until her father (Rindo Urushiba; Former Interpol detective, and her only family) was dismissed from the service. She ended up working part-time jobs to secure rent and food. Heading home from school, she sees a penguin up in the sky catching up with, feeding on glowing fishes. She might have thought she's hallucinating since she's been fed up with half of the responsibilities she had with her father for the past few years. She passed out right after one of the glowing fishes made contact with her and then later on gained consciousness inside her home. Since realized that a strange power had awaken within her, she's still new at it and had no full control of it until the boy, Kyotaro Azuma, who has teleporting ability, who picked her up and brought her home, helped Rinka when she fell through the floors of the apartment. Later on, she finds herself battling with criminals while accompanying Kyotaro Azuma who dreamed of becoming a hero to protect the city. Rinka may not know herself but her life is being changed gradually.
This is a story of family, love, and friends. A story of selfishness or selflessness.
I've been typing this down since last night and this was such a pain. I'm not gaining anything from this
Had to do this from time to time (the reviewing thing) for you guys. If there's a manga that sucked and you want your time back, well then, you'll worry no more because we'll be taking those su*k a*s mangas head on. Well, this one was pretty good so far.
Now for the rating,
Plot 7/10
The first chapters were interesting. It's not like those other that you'll have to go through the shiznits just to get to the good part - where things gets interesting. Tokyo ESP will intrigue you even for just a chapter. The father and daughter relationship is super unique too!
Characters 6/10
Uniquely-made. I couldn't say more but there are just other which are ripped off a little bit. The kind of humor they're having is different - using Hollywood icons and characters as extras.
Design 7/10
The actions are pretty well executed. Costumes are a little mainstream but I'm sure you'd still dig that. Both shading and lighting are pretty smooth.
OVERALL 7.5/10
Hope you'll enjoy reading! Piz out.
