Stuff by Yuu Watase can be really sappy (Fushigi Yuugi, Ayashi no Ceres, Absolute Boyfriend)
Chobits - really cute (but I watched it instead of read it)
Honey & Clover - college setting
Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge (or The Wallflower) - I liked the anime art better though
