Story Synopsis :
Tomoya Okazaki is a third year high school student resentful of his life. His mother passed away from a car accident when he was younger, causing his father to resort to alcohol and gambling. This results in fights between the two until Tomoya's shoulder is injured in a fight. Since then, Tomoya has had distant relationships with his father, causing him to become a delinquent over time. While on a walk to school, he meets a strange girl named Nagisa Furukawa who is a year older, but is repeating due to illness. Due to this, she is often alone as most of her friends have moved on. The two begin hanging out and slowly, as time goes by, Tomoya finds his life shifting in a new direction.

The anime Clannad and Clannad After Story are the types of anime you would categorize as a slice of life high school story because this is what actually happens to some high school students. The best part of this season is the friendship, I like the slow progression into the next stage of their relationship (Tomoya and Nagisa). It takes both of them a while to realize that their friendship is transforming into something else, but the viewer already knows what’s coming based on actions you see. I really love this Anime, highly recommended.

I really love this anime because it made me cry a lot T.T
But I still don't understand the ending and about the robot and the girl.

Remember the parents of Kotomi which studies the "other" world? It is the other world were the robot which is Okazaki and the girl is his daughter? :music

Ang hirap magenglish whahaha, hmmm. yun ung pinagaaralan nung mga magulang ni kotomi, ung ibang mundo pre, tapos aun. dun ung robot at ung babae, ung robot si okazaki tapos ung babae ung anak nya, di ba sinabe sa dulo? XD gets mo?

Clannad was one of the first anime I've even seen.. after that i was hooked. such a beautiful anime <3

It is such a good and heartwarming anime. It tackles friendship and importance of family in everyone's lives. Plus, good story and character backgrounds. It made me cry, the only anime I've watched to do so.

Nakakaiyak siya super lalo na sa episode nung nawala si fuko ibuki :'(
bawat sa kanila ay mga sad stories but then in the end masaya pa rin :))
