Gunpla!

First topic message reminder :
Ok. So Gunpla.
What is Gunpla anyway?
Ok, I'm just a newbie-rookie on the Scale Modeling(a hobby in which models of a certain object, person, animal, actual or fictional, alive or non alive etc etc, made out of plastic or with metal parts) Scene, and I'm addicted over Gunpla :) It's not an easy hobby, cause it takes time and patience. And it may look like it, but it's NOT a TOY
Here's one of my favorite and satisfied model I made. The Master Grade 1/100 Scale Infinite Justice from Gundam SEED: Destiny, piloted by Athrun Zala!
Ok. So Gunpla.
What is Gunpla anyway?
Wikipedia says:
Gundam Models refers to plastic and non-plastic model kits depicting the mechas, vehicles and characters of the fictional Mobile Suit Gundam universe by Bandai. These kits have become popular among anime fans and model enthusiasts, especially in Japan and in other nearby Asian countries since the 1980s. The popularity of Gundam models increased in the 1990s with North America and Europe being exposed to Gundam through television, video and manga. These Gundam Models are also called Gunpla (ガンプラ Ganpura?), a portmanteau of "Gundam plastic model". "Gunpla" more commonly refers to the practice of building Gundam models, rather than the models themselves.

About new series came from all gundam timeline from uc to seed don't know kung meron din galing sa 00 at Age.

I had so many Gunpla back then but I shamefully admit I treated them like toys.. but hey that was back the in late 90s when Gundam Shows were deployed in local TV XD
If I only had modelling skills and display display space, I'd like to build Gundams and Macross Kits.. =D
-PuroKishi: That's a nice Justice. ^^ I also liked both Justice Gundams both the Vanilla and the ∞ variant in terms of design ^^

Thanks :3
But actually, everyone can mold their modelling skills. Personally, before I started a year ago(actually 1year anniversary ko since nag Gunpla ako) I don't know a thing about plamos, modelling, or even cutting or removing pieces from the sprues but I tried my best and I practiced night long. As of now, I may be classed as a Class B or C modeler, but that's fine by me. As for the display space, akin is 1 meter by .4 meter lang na cabinet space, pinagtiyatiyagaan ko. As long as nakikita ko sila na natapos at maganda para sa akin okay na.
@Shadow, kainggit, Nu ver Ka XD pag ako naka ipon bibili ako ng PG ko! Lol

I suggest HG Gunpla if you're truly a beginner. Back when i started, I did MG ones, but my cutting/sanding skills were not that good yet so nub marks were all around. I suggest practicing on HG ones so you could polish em skills :)zdsgcl wrote:Hi there :) I'm new to Gunplas and I saw gunpla builders last otaku expo 2013. I'm just curious. But if you're up to the challenge, you can start with MGs :D
I started with Astray Red Frame :)

Additional tip if your'e living around manila you may try AG(Advance Grade) the kit you saw in the otaku expo similar to FG(First Grade) Just buy k-zone anime magazine september issue for 85-100 php look at the back there's a coupon that you can used to get the free kits in any Toy's R'us/Toy Kingdom branch not bad for the starter unlike me that start on the BL hahahga >.< . I'm not sure sir. But If you'd find a way to go to Baguio, we have a group that sells Gunpla there. Original or Bootleg :3sakthreee wrote:Saan ba meron bilihan ng gunpla dto sa pampanga? Balak ko dn mag collect :)
