The names of the three Sannin (Jiraiya, Tsunade, and Orochimaru) were taken from the "Legend of the Gallant Jiraiya" each of whom had a special magic they learned - toad, slug, and snake.
The sword that Orochimaru uses is a sword called "Kusanagi" this means grass cutter and this is from a legend. A god was one day banished from heaven and killed a 8 head snake and out of the snake popped a sword and that was the sword of Kusanagi.
The name Uzumaki means whirlpool, Naruto is named after the whirlpool of the city Naruto. Naruto is also a name for steamed fish-paste cake, sliced to decorate soup which has a spiral design in the middle.
There once was a Japanese priest who supposedly enchanted a teapot to never be empty at a party and was believed to be a tanuki. His name was Shukaku. Gaara's tanuki demon is named Shukaku.
In the anime Gaara's sash is white. In the manga its red

In fairytail, the author initially planned on killing Macarov in the S-class battle arc when they fought Acnologia, but then decided to turn it otherwise...

And the author of the series Stigma of the wind died from a heart attack and left the manga version of it unfinished (but was picked up by other authors later on)

However Recently, Toriko has replaced Bleach according to Weekly Shounen Jump, yet it's likely people will still count Bleach in the HST out of force of habit and tradition.

- ·Ryuugamine Mikado·········This guy is not the protagonist. I have mixed feelings about the fact that people always assume he's the protagonist. I intended him to be the "still waters run deep" type of character. It should also be obvious in the novels that he isn't being trained to defeat some kind of evil boss or anything, so I didn't expect him to appear as if he's the protagonist.
·Yumasaki & Karisawa·········Otaku duo. If it looks to you like their names are based on some Dengeki authors, it's just you. I told you it's just you.
By the way, if it also looks to you like the name of a certain gang member comes from a certain author, or a mafia character's name is borrowed from a certain editor, there is no such possibility. Told you there is not. And the mafia character hasn't even appeared yet anyway.
·Kadota·········The leader type who tames the otaku duo and other gangsters. I beg you not to think that his name comes from a combination of certain authors' names. I am really bothered by the fact that so many people take him for K-ta-san.
·Kishitani Shinra·········I had many discussions with Yasuda-san about how his illustration should look like. At the end I said, "Please make him something like Yashima Norito.""Oh! That's the guy from Hey! The Spring of Trivia!" and thereby his character design was decided. That's all. Not that it makes you feel like you learned anything.
·Heiwajima Shizuo·········I did not give him this name; a friend did. I asked, is there a good name for a violent short-tempered character? And that friend of mine became his christener. ...Is it really alright to have a character that's so exactly the opposite of what his name suggests?
·Orihara Izaya········The name "Izaya" was also the brainchild of a friend of mine. When I first designed this character, I was like "It would be kinda boring if he's just the know-it-all and unbeatable type. Why not I also make him a natural enemy of sorts" and that's how Shizuo came into being. However...it turned out that they're received as the "actually these two are really close!" and even bacon lettuce (BL) combination. As for why, that's something I have yet to reflect upon.......
·Celty Sturluson········She's the heroine. Also the protagonist. But adults won't understand. Kids don't understand either.

In episode 8 when Shinobu transforms, its an obvious parody of Sailor Moon right down to the hand signs.
In episode 8 the game system that Keitaro is playing is a Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES)
In episode 12, Keitaro and the gang except Motoko who is wearing a dress and Haruka who is wearing a helmet are wearing World War Two era military uniforms. Mitsune is wearing a German officer uniform with cape, Shinobu is wearing a pre-war French infantry uniform, Kaolla is wearing a Japanese infantry uniform, Naru is wearing an American infantry uniform and Keitaro is wearing a British 8th army tropical uniform.
In episode 12, at around 10:46, 'Kaora Su' uses a, "Kame(Turtle) seek radar". This is a refrence to the "Dragon Radar" from the series, "DragonBall".
In episode 14 when Keitaro was in the manga studio, he was actually working on one of Ken Akamatsu's earlier works, A.I. Love You.
Ken Akamatsu is also the author of Love Hina and Mahou Sensei Negima!

Seems that due to the extreme tortures he endures from the president, he somewhat gained an electrical immunity. Due to this, he is able to shoot thunderbolts from his "private area".
It is rumored that Tomoki might be an Angel due to strong hints, such as
Daedalus mentioning that he is sleeping or Tomoki being able to be in the
Synapse in his dreams (similar to Hiyori's "avatar" method).
Tomoki has perverted/manly spirits that once came to him in a quiz. When he was asked what to do in a girl's locker room and was about to say don't peep, the spirits came and helped him say peep.
He knows almost all girls' bathing time.
Tomoki's English voice actor and seiyuu both voiced Son Goku from Saiyuki.

Wow this place is really informative and has a lot of stuff that I don't know yet! :)) I'll just add a little something something that I know.
These are a few Negima trivias:
-According to Ken Akamatsu, Negi Springfield was mostly based on Harry Potter. Negi's name was almost Negi Silverberg to keep in with the Harry Potter theme but it was later changed to Springfield.

Anyway Rei Kuroki is more like an exported Character from both Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha at Puella Magika Madoka because of the similarities she have from Fate T. Harloawn and Homura Akemi
