[Tutorial] Simple C4D Signature Tutorial
Tue Dec 31, 2013 9:34 pm
Hello Minna-san! This is my first tutorial posted here! I'm going to try my very best in explaining how I created this signature, so please forgive me if you can't understand my tutorial beforehand. If there is something you would like to ask, just let me know!
We're going to create this signature (That I created for Miyaka):
First of all, here are the resources used for creating this signature. Note that all of those resources are not mine, and credits to those who own/created them:
C4Ds:
Render:
Also, do keep in mind that everyone has their own style in creating signatures. So, you may follow either this tut completely, or do this tut in your own style.
And I almost forgot, look at the bottom right of the pictures to see the sequencing of layers.
Now, let's get started.
1. Open Photoshop, then create a new canvas that is 500X250 pixels. Fill it with white.
2.Paste the C4D's.
3. Create a new layer, fill it will black and set it to Screen at 20% Opacity.
4.Paste another C4D, set it to Screen at 50% Opacity.
5. Paste your render, duplicate it 2 (or 3) times, and hide it (you'll know why later). Resize the current one, (Ctrl+T, and hold Shift key) and flip it horizontally.
6. Make one of the duplicated layers visible, resize it, and flip rotate it 180.
7. Paste another C4D.
8. Paste this C4D, set it to Screen at 20% Opacity.
9. Paste another one, set it to Screen at 100% Opacity.
10. Paste the last C4D, set it to Linear Dodge at 50% Opacity.
11. Now, unhide the last duplicated render. This will be your definite render in this signature Resize to fit in your signature.
12. (Optional) Now if you duplicate the render 3 times, unhide the last duplicated render, resize it to your definite render, and set it to Soft Light. This will create an effect on your render.
13. It's now time for adjustment layers. Note that you don't have to do all of these. This depends on what style do you like. But I'll still post my adjustment layers I used here.
14.Create a new layer. Now grab your 50px White Soft Brush, and brush in the indicated parts as shown below. Set the layer to Linear Dodge at 20% Opacity.
15. Create another new layer, change the soft brush size to 150px, and brush in the indicated parts as shown below. Set the layer at Linear Dodge at 20% Opacity.
16. Last 2 adjustment layers.
17. Now, create a New Layer, then apply image. Go to Filter-> Sharpen-> Sharpen. Set the layer at 50% Opacity.
18. Create a new layer and apply image again. This time, go to Filter->Other->High Pass(use the normal settings). Set this layer to Soft Light at 20% Opacity.
19.Now type in your text.
20. (Optional) Select the whole canvas, then go to Edit->Stroke->and stroke in on the center. (use black color, 2px). Then you're done!
Hope it helps!
