Introduction to Weiss Schwarz
Fri Mar 01, 2013 7:20 pm
Hi I have nothing to do so let me post an introduction to my favorite card game: Weiß Schwarz.
I. What is Weiß Schwarz ?
Weiß Schwarz (or commonly abreviated as WS) is a Japanese card game from the company Bushiroad (whose other gamers are Victory Spark, ChaOS and Cardfight Vanguard). In WS, two players put anime characters against one another in an epic duel that requires skill, luck and tactics.
WS is also available in PSP but not all the sets are available.
II. What Anime Series can I play in WS?
As in all Busiroad games there is no card pool rotation so you can always play all the available series.
There are however ban lists and 2 tournament types: Standard and Neo-Standard. Neo-Standard just means your deck can only have card from one series and Standard mean you can mix and match series.
All cards are currently in Japanese and only the Disgea, Madoka and Fate/Zero Trial Decks are available in English.
Here's the list of available series:
Weiß Side
Angel Beats! & Kud Wafter
D.C. series
Index & Railgun
Little Busters!
Lucky Star
Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha series
Phantom ~Requiem for the Phantom~
Puella Magi Madoka Magica
Rewrite series
Robotics;Notes
Senki Zesshō Symphogear
Shakugan no Shana
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Zero no Tsukaima
Schwarz Side
Accel World
Bakemonogatari
Disgaea series
Fairy Tail
Fate series
Guilty Crown
Macross Frontier
Melty Blood
Persona series (3, 4 and 4 arena)
Rebuild of Evangelion
Sengoku Basara
Shining Force EXA
Sword Art Online
Tantei Opera Milky Holmes series
THE iDOLM@STER series
The King of Fighters
Future Announced Sets (as of feb 28, 2013):
Hatsune Miku - Project Diva
Love Live!
Vividred Operation
These series can have multiple sets (for example the Fate Series have Fate/Stay Night, Fate/Zero and Fate/Ataraxia).
Another additional info is that per set will have special cards known as SPs that you can obtain. These SPs are signed cards (mostly by seiyuus) and are extremely valuable cards. An example is the SP Asuna card signed by Tomatsu Haruka and Fate Testarossa signed by Nana Mizuki.
III. Are there any translations for these cards?
Yes, you can find english translations in the internet. I recommend the website Little Akiba though.
IV. Where can I get these cards?
Currently there is no local distributor in the Philippines. You need to order them online. I have heard though that the two english TDs (Madoka and Fate/Zero) are available in some card shops like Fortess in Greenhills.
V. Can you teach me how to play?
I will probably post a tutorial for the gameplay of Weiss Schwarz when I have time again. The english TDs however have instruction manuals inside so I suggest you buy them. You can also search the Weiss Schwarz Wikia page. I am also currently looking for a play group so if you know one or is a part of one please tell me. If you have any questions regarding the cards and game, please message me.
VI. where can I find more information?
I recommend the websites Little Akiba and WS-@nk-ds. There are also groups in facebook that you can search.

I think that's not necessary since the topic is informing others so I think this is the right section.
