This discussion thread is for the anime's and movie's of the ".Hack" Series

(I'll start the the game discussion in a different section and thread)

To start off here's a brief introduction of what the ".Hack" Series is...

".hack (pronounced "dot-hack") is a Japanese multimedia franchise that encompasses two projects; Project .hack and .hack Conglomerate. Both projects were primarily created/developed by CyberConnect2, and published by Bandai. The series is mainly followed through the anime and video game installations, and has been adapted through manga, novels and other related media."

Title: .Hack//Sign
Episodes: 26
Summary: Amidst a popular online role playing game in the near future, characters try to play out the goals they set for entertainment and passing of time. The World as the RPG is called is one with a setting of monsters, player characters and dungeons. Tsukasa is a detached and introverted character that has a number of mysteries about his player character. Many weird happenings seem to suround Tsukasa and his involvement in a rare item called 'The Key Of The Twilight' sparks Tsukasa'a meeting with different online characters and the befriending of their real life counterparts; All without ever meeting face to face in reality. What is strange about Tsukasa is that he can't seem to log out of The World. Subaru and Silver Knight of The Crimson Knights continue to look for proof of why Tsukasa can not log out or the existance of The Key Of The Twilight. Meanwhile Bear, Mimiru, and BT as Tsukasa's friends try to help him understand who he really is and how he can return to the real world.

Count me in on this. I'm a fan of this series and that's where my username came from. ^-^ My favorite .hack characters are Haseo and Azure Kite. ^-^

phew! and I though no one knows about the .Hack Series...Just hope people will not start a rip off rumor...SAO and .Hack are two different things

Yeah you're right. Although SAO and .Hack's setting are in a game world, both are different. So far, I haven't seen anyone comparing the two series. I hope there won't be any conflict between SAO and .Hack fans.

I agree..I don't want a SAO and .Hack controversy just like the Hunger Games and Battle Royale controversy

Agree with you guys, but it breaks my heart to see how underrated the .Hack// franchise is, it was one of the best JRPG's to play in the PS2 and had a pretty serious storyline, sadly there are a few of us who realize this.

good to know that .hack is still alive hehehe yep i know this one, manga anime and yung game!! personally, i like .hack better than SAO
but i find it hard to believe that it's not as acknowledged as other anime well may not as much as the big three but the popularity was dull and it's such a good and serious plot

If there could be a reboot of IMOQ, that would be awesome, and maybe with enough hype, it'd be a hit.

Hello guys!

say, I've been curious about this game/anime for awhile now. But since I only have a PC and PSP I cant play the game and i prefer to read manga over the anime. Dont really know what to ask, just fill me in i guess.

.. well, i still dont know the series..
but the game story.. ive already done it

-reminisce
-redemption

Yup there is. But I haven't watched it yet. It's a CG film.

You can still play .hack game series in your PC using a PS 2 emulator and there's a PSP game of .hack, tho it doesn't have an English version. -_-

Anyway, there's a fighting game of .hack now. Characters are from previous titles and from the movie.

hmmm fighting game...I heard that when you buy the PS3 fighting game there's a bonus disc...do you think it's the new .Hack movie?

I wonder what the new .Hack movie is all about?...is it a compilation or a new story line?

It's a new story line, it's about someone having someone with the same PC as Kite, like from Legend of Twilight maybe, CC Corp. giving away some PC modeled after famous players and then screw up, that character was in .Hack//Link in the PSP last time I checked.
