well, that anime has some unique atmosphere on it so it's hard to recommend an anime that is really close to that one.
but try :
Isshukan Friends ( although it's still ongoing and only one episode is aired atm. XD )
Kokoro Connect ( although the characters are much younger compared to GT )
and maybe sakurasou and nagi no asukara.
