Highschool DxD NEW (Second Season) Review
I would compare Highschool DxD to a double edge sword. If you’re fine with an ecchi anime then this would be one of the best ecchi anime out there, BUT if you hate and despise ecchi, then this anime is not for you.
This is a review of the second season of Highschool DxD, an anime adaptation of its light novel authored by Ichei Ishibumi and is animated by TnK.
STORY: (9/10)
If you've already watched the first season, the story is not as good right? It was like an stereotypical harem with plenty of fanservice. Here, in the second season the story/plot is 200%. The season is like divided in two story arcs : Excalibur and Yuuto's troubled past(ep 1-6) and it is somewhat serious. The second half is Vampire of the suspended classroom(ep 7-12) Which focused on the new bishop of Rias Gremory and the meeting of the leaders of the angels, devils, and fallen angels. So expect more action , plot, and of coarse, boobs.
ART: (8/10)
The art is fine, which is to be expected from a 2013 anime.
MUSIC: (9/10)
Surprisingly, Highschool DxD New which only have 12 episodes, have 2 ops! 1 for each story arc. Both of the OPs are very good and the EDs are also quite good. The OSTs made Highschool DxD more better because it fits every scenes. There is a part when Issei looks cool when he is saying some perverted quotes because of the background music(it is in episode 3).
CHARACTERS: (9/10)
You gotta love Issei on his quest to be the harem king, the erotic DxD girls. Some important new characters are Xenovia and Irina who are exorcist from the Vatican city, Azazel the leader of the fallen angels and the Vanishing Dragon (Issei's rival).
OVERALL: (9/10)
Overall, for a person who can watch ecchi like me, I'll give DxD New a 9 because it is really a good anime. Because now you can watch Highschool DxD for the story itself and the guilty pleasure as only a bonus. But really, this anime is not for every one because it is ecchi and you can't remove ecchi on highschool DxD because Highschool DxD would not be Highschool DxD without ecchi.
