the answer is in your question already. Because romantic itself means displaying, expressive of, or conducive to love. Now, tell me, can you show your romance to your partner while watching your favorite b-ball game or drag racing? I guess not. It is because your feelings(excitement) and attention will be filled with the things you watch.
But, it still depends on your partner, if she enjoys watching those kind of things too. She might see it as a romantic date or whatever.

err. girlfriend mo yan db? syempre magagalit sya. magseselos. dahil nasa iba ang attention mo. pero ibang usapan na kapag friend/acquaintance mo lang yung girl.
